Deliverance: One of God’s Mysterious Powers

Eph 6:12 For we battle not against flesh and blood but against principalities, against power, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

This is a very powerful scripture, yet very relevant to today: in the world and our individual lives.

I cannot recall if I have posted about the amazing mystery of God’s deliverance. If I have, may I please tell you (again) how freeing it is when God wins a spiritual battle, on your behalf?! How after over a week of knowing, yet not understanding, something was going on, for it kept manifesting anxiety and physical ailments, the jubilation when it retracts: The amazing sense of an uninvited guest being lifted from your being and peace being restored.

Hebrews 4:13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in His sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we must give account.

Can I give full expression to how amazing it is when you’re able to discern, then rebuke an ungodly spirit; afterward, sensing as it un-attaches itself from you? (Probably not as it is something one must experience for them-self to truly understand.) With that discernment comes relief: for in this case it was someone else’s spiritual issue and I was it’s target. If you aren’t aware, it is possible for someone else’s spirits to attach themselves to you and wreak havoc in your life! These are not usually happy, loving spirits so beware. They are spirits that were perhaps cast from you/or the other person once and they came back at some point, with friends! (Examples: fear, manipulation, unloving, addiction, infirmity, conflict, unbelief.)

Luke 11:24-26 When an unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he (the spirit)* walketh through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none he (the spirit) saith, I will return unto my house whence I came out (a person). And when he cometh, he findeth it swept and garnished (spiritually clean/healthy). Then goeth he, and taketh to him seven other spirits more wicked than himself; and they enter in, and dwell there (in the person); and the last state of that man is worse than the first.

It is when we discern these spirits, cast them out (be delivered of) and stand firm against them, that they come back with the heavy artillery! It is when our boats become rocked and we don’t know why, that they have successfully infiltrated our own spirit. In my case, I found myself in fear for another person’s situation, and my faith and trust that God would provide for that person, wavered. (Mostly because this person does not trust and know God, on the same level as myself.)  But what was really going on came to light during a conversation, as a manipulative spirit made a slip of tongue, hence revealing itself. This happens when the Holy Spirit is on guard! (See the Hebrews scripture above.)

This spirit of manipulation, residing in the other person, was testing me; because I am sensitive to them, that spirit was able to manipulate my emotions. Thus causing me to take on their fears and anxiety.  When the revealing words were spoken out loud, this released my own spirit from owning those thoughts and emotions. It took a good work-out, a good night’s sleep, and lots of prayer, for my own mind, body and spirit to work all of this out. It was during a walk this morning that the spirit actually revealed itself to me (I literally heard the words “i am a manipulative spirit”) and I immediately took action to cast it out as well as all the other related spirits it could have brought along.

It also answered a question of something that occurred after the aforementioned conversation, which was a difficult one: I sat next to the person and showed love and tenderness, by laying my head on their shoulder. All of a sudden their breathing became very heavy. It revealed to me this morning that was in reaction to receiving love: This show of affection, weakened it’s hold, on us both!

1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear; because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. (God is perfect love therefore if we love God, he will cast our fears aside. He who is in fear, is not healed for they know not God.)

I could literally sense the weight being lifted, the anxiety dissolving and my normal state of being, being restored – in mere seconds. How God does this is a complete mystery to me other than pure faith, for He reigns over my life: He is the ruler of my spirit. He, and only He, has the omnipotent power to work this way. And of course, being the grateful girl I am, I continued my walk singing His praises and giving thanks!

These spiritual tools are available to anyone who has accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior–free of price. Why? Because Jesus paid the price by dying on the cross–by doing this he took on the weight of the world, the sin of the world, to free us from bondage!  How to access them, is laid out for us in God’s Word, the Holy Bible. It is up to us to learn to be guided by these words in order for them to make a difference in our lives. It is up to us to accept the power that the indwelling of the Holy Spirit gives us as God’s children. The Holy Spirit equips us with Spiritual Gifts (and yes, discerning spirits is one of them) that we can use to help others and ourselves.

Praise be to God for His glory and for Jesus giving it up on the cross on our behalf! It is finished! Hallelujah!
