A Call to Ministry:
Every follower (disciple) of Yeshua/Jesus Christ is called into ministry from day one of accepting Him as their Lord and Savior. We are given the great commission in Matthew 28:16-20:
“16 Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them. 17 And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted. 18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”
I take Yeshua/Jesus’ words very seriously, therefore, often say the same words as the prophet Isaiah, ‘Send Me’!
Writing is my first form of ministry: Writing a book was literally my first official divine assignment. Then came this blog… (Learn more)
The Mission Field: The Lord has sent me to prayer walk cities, lay hands on the sick (pray for healing), lead worship, prepare and take food to victims of wildfires, and deliver the good news to a man in Eastern Kentucky whose heart God desired. For over a year I was called to street ministry – loving on women trapped in addiction and sex trafficking. This led to being faced with the most challenging ministry I could have imagined with a family member caught in addiction – and being used through her to reach female inmates and wardens. He uses me in the lives of people I walk next to often, both friends, neighbors, and strangers.
Yeshua’s Ministry:
“So He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read.17 And He was handed the book of the prophet Isaiah. And when He had opened the book, He found the place where it was written:
18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,
Because He has anointed Me
To preach the gospel to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives
And recovery of sight to the blind,
To set at liberty those who are oppressed;
19 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”
20 Then He closed the book, and gave it back to the attendant and sat down. And the eyes of all who were in the synagogue were fixed on Him. 21 And He began to say to them, “Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.”
