Tied Up Passion, Freed (A Poem)

by  Stacey R. Louiso

(Ask yourself this question upon reading this poem:  Where does my passion lie?)

Passon Like a Waterfall

Once upon a time,

Passion was misplaced…

Dramatic

Misused

Spilled out across time, space and pages

Confused

Expressed

Wasted, passion.

Though, not intentionally so…

Compounded

Despondent

Never finding the tunnel’s end

Misguided

Misinterpreted

Maturation of passion

Reality of life…

Exploration

Concentration

Of where energy should be spent

Obscure

En passant

Enlightened, passion

Steadily finding a path…

Discerning

Controlling

Understanding of worthiness

Worshipping

Spirited

Today, passion lies

Within, but not, without…

One

Creation

Salvation’s saving Grace

Love

Faith

  1. Passion…what an amazing thing. We seem to live in an age when so many lack passion, are almost insipid. Yet when we turn to Jesus a passion, as you say, not from without but from within is ignited. Life has meaning and direction. Life has flavor and color. Wow. Thanks for your poem. I pray we will see a generation ignited by the Lord’s passion.

  2. Thank you, for this, Stacey…this poem really speaks! So well, in fact, that I have shared it with someone who is becoming very special to me at this time, of my finding renewed, faith.
