Easter poem: Can You…

Who needs a hero when they have a SAVIOR

There is but ONE…

He who took a beating more horrific than any super “man” could bear

Held to a wooden cross by nails driven through hands and feet

Bludgeoned

Bleeding

Broken not broken…

Yet, thinking about salvation for those who pierced Him, for those hanging near death to either side

Forgive them, Father, they know NOT what they do!

Can you…

Calculate the value of Jesus asking forgiveness for you

Receive completely His sacrifice

Allow His blood to cleanse, then cover every last sin

Today, this Savior lives.

Wrapped lovingly in pure white, witnessed by a mourning mother

and few whom His walk on earth reached

Confusion and disbelief ensued upon witnessing Jesus’ mortal death

Followers

Unbelievers

A void left in the hearts of men

Lost without the ONE in whom they put their trust

The Master for whom they left all behind, dedicating themselves to His cause

Can you…

Imagine, the anguish in their hearts

Consider, the fear taking root in their minds

Taste, the tears that came up from, then fell, from a deep, deep well

Hallelujah, the risen King.

How could those chosen and given knowledge, not hear His promise

Lord Jesus said he would die, then rise again

The astonishment to find His tomb, empty, two days later

Resurrection

Confusion

Fear, soon overcome by Faith

He knew who would come; she was a trusted one

Jesus instructed and away she did run, to share the news of the RISEN ONE!

Can you…

Sense, her jubilation upon witnessing THE KING in His glory

Fathom, mother Mary’s reaction upon realizing the Son’s call now complete

Watch, as trembling disciples recognize they must carry out His commands!

Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God Almighty

Can you…

Believe

The Resurrection of Jesus (Matthew 28:1-10)

In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.

And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.

His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:

And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.

And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.

He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.

And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.

And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word.

And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.

10 Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me.

This may be the most awesome song written on the Resurrection of Jesus Christ -it never fails to bring me to tears… “Forever” He is glorified, forever He is lifted high! Thank you Jesus for your live giving sacrifice for this sinful world! YOU ALONE are WORTHY!!
