“There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love.” (1 John 4:18)
Fear.
The Word of Adonai (God) tells us not to allow fear to overtake our thoughts and actions 365 times.
Why then do members of the body of Messiah, fear?
Oh, let me count the reasons…the main reason is that fear has somehow taken root from an outside source. Often from childhood or early adulthood. Some trauma, event or family/community issue that has taught a person to fear. Has engrained fear into their hearts/minds.
Fear of man.
Fear of death.
Fear of the unknown.
Those are irrational according to the Word we study, if we belong to Messiah.
Yet, fear exists and because it exists it controls and manipulates lives. Causes one to shrink or hide.
It permeates from one’s action or inaction, their unruly tongues; often holds one back from willingly participating in the life God planned before you were born.
Fear.
Prevents mankind from carrying out the commands “love thy LORD thy God with all of your heart, mind and strength” and “love thy neighbor as you love yourself”…but didn’t you hear: perfect love casts out fear! If you believe God loves you…why hasn’t the shadow been cast down?
Why are YOU allowing FEAR to hold you down, back, and upside down? Because, friends, no one else can decide to let Light defeat Dark in your life…but you! He cannot cast out fear, if you won’t let him have it. He can‘t shine through you completely if you hold onto stuff not of Him.
Are you not tired of carrying the burden of fear? Do you not wish for those shackles to fall off and to live free; free to love Him, yourself and your neighbor without hesitation? Those chains get really heavy and corroded over time.
Put them down so He can lift you up out of the gutter in your mind fear has trapped you in!
1 Peter 5:6-12 reminds us, “Therefore, humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, so that at the right time he may lift you up. Throw all your anxieties upon him, because he cares about you. Stay sober, stay alert! Your enemy, the Adversary, stalks about like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Stand against him, firm in your trust, knowing that your brothers throughout the world are going through the same kinds of suffering. You will have to suffer only a little while; after that, God, who is full of grace, the one who called you to his eternal glory in union with the Messiah, will himself restore, establish and strengthen you and make you firm. To him be the power forever and ever. Amen. Through Sila, whom I regard as a faithful brother, I have written you briefly, encouraging you and giving my witness that this is God’s true grace. Stand firm in it!”
It PAINS my heart very deeply to watch people live in/with fear as we are today, in the year 2020 (or 5780 in Biblical years). I know from the deepest depth of my being it is absolutely NOT our Abba’s will or desire – that His people fear anything. It pains Him to watch people enslaved to fear. He has used me to minister to so many people and help them find the courage to free themselves of it… 😭😭😭 Please care enough for yourselves, for others, if you have any grains of fear residing in you, to request His help in resolving it!
