Your Mission: Serve Where You Are Planted Part 1

Dear Brethren,

This is a letter to anyone and everyone who proclaims to be a Believer, Disciple of Yeshua/Jesus Christ, one walking with Yahweh/God…regardless of anything else you proclaim. It was laid upon my heart this morning after an encounter I had in my own backyard (almost literally) where the Holy Spirit spoke very clearly and sternly. He hopes this convicts you INTO ACTION! It is time, brothers and sisters, to take your heads out of the sand and be aware. The time to be wise as serpents is at hand! (Matt 10:16) Too many of you live in your own little world not actually understanding what you are called to do in your time here:
Share the good news of the gospel in anticipation of the second coming of the Lord. Your Mission: Serve where you are planted.

Why? Be honest, do you know why? It’s not merely to bring people into relationship with Jesus, there is much more to it. Paul wrote in Ephesians (ch 5):

“Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children; and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma. (KEEP READING)
But sexual immorality or any impurity or greed must not even be mentioned among you, as is proper among saints (THAT’S YOU);  and there must be no filthiness or foolish talk, or vulgar joking, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks. For this you know with certainty, that no sexually immoral or impure or greedy person, which amounts to an idolater, has an inheritance in the kingdom of Messiah/Christ and God.

See that no one deceives you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. Therefore do not become partners with them; for you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord; walk as children of light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), as you try to learn what is pleasing to the Lord…”

Do you understand that when you are brought into the Light and you do nothing to overcome the darkness of this world, outside of the confines of your home, you are partnering with darkness? You are not heeding the call you were given upon being born-again and made into a new creature in Messiah. You are not participating in the great commission given to us by Yeshua/Jesus before his death and resurrection:

But the eleven disciples proceeded to Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had designated to them. And when they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some were doubtful. And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Go*, therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to follow all that I commanded you; and behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”  (Matthew 28:16-20 NASB *GO is a verb…an action!)

Previous to his death and resurrection, Yeshua spoke privately to His disciples on the matter of the end of days, because they literally asked Him, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?” (See Matthew 23 and 24 for context.) His response was long and one needs to read chapter 23 to see that not only is he speaking of those who do not know him, but also those who pride themselves as being “religious” yet do nothing to truly help others except turn them into replicas of their own idolatry. (“…Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you devour widows’ houses, and for a pretense make long prayers. Therefore you will receive greater condemnation.” “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel land and sea to win one proselyte, and when he is won, you make him twice as much a son of hell as yourselves.” [Matt 23:14-15])

Have you checked your intentions lately? Have you asked Adonai to humble you in order to see any immorality within yourself?
“And do not be called teachers; for One is your Teacher, the Christ. But he who is greatest among you shall be your servant. And whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.” “But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut up the kingdom of heaven against men; for you neither go in yourselves, nor do you allow those who are entering to go in…” (Matt 23:10-13)

Part of Yeshua’s response to the disciples was as follows, “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake.  And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. And because lawlessness* will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved.  And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come…” (Matt 24:9-14 *lawlessness in Hebrew here DOES NOT MEAN commandments as some insist, it translates as mufkarut – lawlessness, anarchy.)
For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened.” (Matt 24:21-22)

He is not exhorting them, he is warning them about what they needed to “see” in the spiritual so they could endure while carrying forth in the natural. They knew what they would be up against; we need to be just as aware and prepared.

There is, within the greater body of Messiah, a lot happening to people, and it is pushing them to their emotional and physical limits. Why? I suspect He is trying to firstly, strengthen our resolve against hardships…tribulation; I also suspect He wants us to stop focusing on ourself and do what we are called to do: witness. Witness to others even through hardships – Christ in me the hope of glory! Stop idolizing time, teaching, and what you believe you’re called to do, and seek Him first so all may be added unto you. (Hint: there is more to your “purpose” than being called to teach and preach.)

Let’s see what else Paul wrote in Ephesians 5:
“Do not participate in the useless deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them; for it is disgraceful even to speak of the things which are done by them in secret. But all things become visible when they are exposed by the light, for everything that becomes visible is light.  For this reason it says,

“Awake, sleeper,
And arise from the dead,
And Christ will shine on you.”

So then, be careful how you walk, not as unwise people but as wise, making the most of your time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. (Ephesians 5:11-17 NASB)

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  1. If you are not born-again in Yeshua the Messiah/Jesus the Christ –  it is time! If you are simply talking the talk but not walking the actual walk (The Way) and holding hands with the Savior of the world, who lives inside of those whom are born-again…PLEASE reach out to me, or if you are part of a fellowship, to your shepherd/pastor.
  2. In Part 2 I am going to give you personal examples of what I’ve been up against in the past several weeks in my own neighborhood…do not skip it! (If this post offended you, that’s the Ruach HaKodesh/Holy Spirit doing his job and even more reason for you to find awareness… Shalom!)
